 World Kashmir Diaspora Alliance

NO !   To Human Rights violations in Kashmir

Join us in our  Protest Demonstration  on the  International Day of Human Rights

10 December 2010,  Place  Schumann, from 11 AM until  1 PM, Brussels

On  that  same day, on that very moment  Indian Prime Minister  Dr.  Manmohan Singh, will visit  the European Parliament  as guest in the EU-India Summit.

We,  as organizers of the demonstration, want to  raise attention  for  the ongoing , cruel and wide spreads human rights violations  against the people of Kashmir  by the military and paramilitary forces in the  Valley of   Kashmir, which is under administration of the Indian Government.

We organize the protest  to express our concern on  the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Jammu and Kashmir,  and the  decade long and ongoing   denial of  the right to self determination  as promised to the  people of Kashmir by former Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, and agreed upon by  the UN in 1948. Over  600.000 troops are stationed  in Kashmir,  for one out of every ten civilians  a soldier or security officer  is at duty, which is  five times more then the  international forces  in  a war zone  as  Afghanistan…

We  strongly  condemn  the way  Government of India replies to people's non-violent protests, namely by imposing curfew,  brutal force and merciless repression by  army and security forces of the non-violent protestors.  Since  last June, so  in  only  five  months,   more than 120 non-violent protesters  (youth, women and children)  have been killed  by police and army bullets.

The mass revolt in Kashmir is not masterminded by   Pakistani  insurgents  but a genuine and non-violent  people's protest to claim the right to self determination.   Kashmiri socio- economic  and  political  society  is victimized by present and past political turmoil  fuelled by Indian and Pakistani  national politics  of  ignoring  people's   persistent  appeal to be granted   their   right  to  self determination . We appeal for dialogue  with  representatives  from all shades of Kashmiri  civil and political society.

We also appeal for  a dialogue between European Union and Kashmiri representatives of civil and political society about the true reasons of people's protest, about their ambitions and sentiments, and about roadmaps  to conflict resolution and peace.

Now that  Indian Prime Minister  Manmohan Singh  visits  European Parliament on  International  Human  Rights Day, we want to  remind him to the state of human rights in Kashmir  and show him that we  take him accountable  for  India's  democratic  deficit  in  Kashmir.

Prime Minister Manmohan  Singh is  responsible  for  the presence  of -   and the  ' shoot- to- kill'  mandate  for  -   the  huge military and paramilitary forces in  Kashmir ;  for the  ' Black Laws'   that grant impunity to perpetrators of human rights violations;  for  lack of  truth and justice ; for over two thousands  unmarked and nameless graves and the  denial of a  serious  inquiry  that must reveal the truth about  the allegations  exposed in the reports ' Facts Under Ground'  and  'Buried Evidence'   about these graves.

We  want  Dr. Manmohan Singh to take home  the  message of the people in Europe  that truth  can never  be buried and  justice  never  be compromised.

We invite you to join hands, as Kashmiri, Sikhs, Europeans,  in  a strong appeal for justice.

Together we can show our moral support for  the people of Kashmir  and  show them they  are not alone ;  that  we  express solidarity  with their  nonviolent struggle against  human rights violations and  the denial of self determination.

Join us, express your solidarity !

MY 229th OPEN MESSAGE TO ALL PEOPLE OF GOOD WILL

The following article is an eye opener for Australians, and a warning for all Western countries which support the zionist apartheid regime of Israel. It also explains the complicity of the Australian government in the zionist Gestapo's ongoing torture of myself, my daughter and my son here, in Australia.

"Australian Democracy on

the Israel Lobby's Leash

Australia's "Faceless Men"

by Francis Enden / November 29th, 2010

Dadon and Rudd

Before he began promoting Julia Gillard, Israel Lobbyist, Albert Dadon, was "one of Kevin Rudd's most trusted kitchen cabinet advisers on Israel."1 Pre-PM Rudd was cultivated by Dadon, who had organised two trips to Israel for him. Dadon also established the Australia-Israel Cultural Exchange.

Through his marriage into the billionaire Besen family (e.g., Highpoint Property Group, Suzanne and Sportsgirl shopping chains), Dadon is related to Morry Schwartz who published Rudd's 'Faith in Politics' essay in his magazine, The Monthly, in 2006, giving him a public profile from which to become PM. In Rudd's essay, our ex-PM praised his Christian hero, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who was an outspoken defender of "the marginalised, the vulnerable and the oppressed" during the Nazi's rule. Sounds like good human rights stuff.

But as PM, Rudd showed indifference to the "marginalised, vulnerable and the oppressed" Palestinians during Operation Cast Lead. Rather than endorsing the UN Human Rights Council Report on the atrocities of Operation Cast Lead (The Goldstone Report) along with the vast majority of the UN General Assembly in November 2009, he voted against it, deferring to his pro-Israeli rich on whom he depends for friends and funds. To quote his own essay, Rudd seems to prefer "the hypocrisy of the religious and political elites of his time."

When Mossad (Israeli spies) assassinated a Palestinian in Dubai last January, there of course was no outcry from Canberra. But then it was revealed that the assassins stole the identities of four Australian citizens and forged four Australian passports. It appears that Prime Minister Rudd stopped listening to his "trusted kitchen cabinet advisers on Israel". Perhaps he recognized some responsibility to the Australian people who elected him, not the Israelis that promoted him in the first place. Kevin Rudd, who had been considered a friend of Israel, declared on radio (3AW) that- "any state that chooses to do this in relation to Australian passports, frankly, is treating the Australian people, the Australian government and the Australian nation with contempt."2

Subsequently, Australia expelled the Mossad chief in Canberra, much as senior Mossad agents were expelled in the UK and Ireland. Indeed, Israel also fired their Mossad (Israeli spy) chief, Meir Dagan3 because of this extrajudicial assassination.

Danby and Rudd

One member of Rudd's government and Labour Party, the proud Zionist, Michael Danby, preferred to defend Israel interests over Australian interests, saying "The expulsion [of the Israeli spy] was the wrong policy response. Even if there was some obscure previous incident, Berlin and Paris are as sophisticated as the mandarins of Canberra and their reaction (no expulsion) demonstrates why we did not have to ape the British Foreign Office. Stephen Smith should have made a recommendation to the NSC having the more worldly overview, that this harsh proscription would feed the international campaign of delegitimation of Israel."4

Pro-Israel journalist, Greg Sheridan, states that Danby 'is in no sense a marginal figure in Labor. He is a former secretary of Labour's national security committee, a former Labour whip, and the chairman of the parliamentary foreign affairs sub-committee, that is the most senior parliamentarian, outside the ministry, on foreign affairs.'5

Danby continued, "This folly, this over-reaction, has unwittingly encouraged bigots elsewhere, who have their secret passions sanctioned. I have suggested a series of steps to the Prime Minister to overcome this successful attempt to blot Labor's copybook just weeks before an election."

A week after the announcement of the Mossad chief expulsion, Sheridan, reported, "The Earth moved between Israel and Australia this week, with Kevin Rudd's government expelling an Israeli diplomat over the Dubai passports affair, and it may be that the Earth moved in Australian politics as well."5 This was said three weeks before the coup!

The Israel Lobby and Rudd

The Israel Lobby arranged a meeting with Rudd on the 3rd of June 2010. In the meantime, Israeli commandos attacked the Mavi Marmara ship in international waters, killed 9 people, injured over 50, and kidnapped and treated with contempt over 700 people (UN Human Rights Council report on the attack on the Freedom Flotilla). Amongst the injured were unarmed Australians – not a good introduction for promoting Israeli interests.

Present at the Rudd-Israel Lobby meeting on the 3rd of June were Michael Danby and Albert Dadon.6 Dadon is close to Danby, but likes to be a "behind-the-scenes man."1 Also present were:

  • Mark Dreyfus, another Jewish Zionist ALP MP
  • Mark Leibler (Australia Israel & Jewish Affairs Council chairman)
  • Robert Goot (Executive Council Australian Jewry president)
  • Philip Chester (Zionist Federation of Australia president).

The Lobby left the meeting, without resolving their 'difference of opinion' with Rudd about Australia's expulsion of the resident Mossad chief.((Australian Jewish News, 10/6/2010, 'Rudd reaches out to leaders' by Naomi Levin.)) Rudd was still not taking advice from Australia's ersatz foreign minister, Danby, nor from one of his 'most trusted kitchen cabinet advisers on Israel', Dadon, nor, indeed, from the rest of the Israel Lobby.

Rudd anticipated his own demise saying "What am I, chopped liver?" after meeting these Lobbyists.7 Pro-Israel journalist, Greg Sheridan, of The Australian reported that expulsion of the Mossad chief 'may be the single foreign policy issue that did Rudd the most harm in domestic political terms.'8 Did these so-called Australians tell our Prime Minister: "You expel our Mossad chief, we expel you"?

More Faceless Men in the Coup

One week later, Bill Shorten asked Julia Gillard to challenge Rudd, but she declined.9 Two weeks later (on 24/6/2010), coup plotters, Michael Danby, Bill Shorten, David Feeney, Joe Ludwig and Paul Howes10 were able to persuade Gillard to challenge and reassure her that she had the numbers. Dadon had cultivated Julia Gillard and her hairdresser spouse during a trip to Israel last year for the first Australia-Israel Leadership Forum and has been active in promoting her, as well as employing her spouse in a well-paid job.

What characterises these coup plotters? Danby is intimately associated with the Israel Lobby. Interestingly, after initial reports of his role as coup instigator,10 it seems his role has been hushed up. The other four coup-plotters are united in their deference to the Israel lobby. Shorten, Ludwig and Howes had free "Rambam fellowship" trips to Israel in 2003, 2007 and 2009 respectively.

Shorten was patronised by Zionist billionaire, Richard Pratt (owned Visy), which included being flown in Pratt's private jet to the Beaconsfield mine disaster in 2006 to launch his parliamentary career.11

Ludwig advocates in Parliament for the continued collective punishment of 1.5 million people in Gaza, and against a motion by Senator Kerry Nettle.12

Howes is leader of a counter-campaign against the union endorsement of Boycott Apartheid Israel movement.13 He also is singled out by Antony Loewenstein in My Israel Question14 (2009) as expressing sentiments 'straight out of the Zionist lobby playbook.'

Feeney also expressed sentiments straight out of the Zionist lobby playbook when he rejected the union movement's report on the appalling conditions in Gaza (Hansard 12/5/2010) after it was attacked last year.15

Comments from Australian Officials

After the coup, two former Australian ambassadors to Israel, Ross Burns and Peter Rodgers, complained of "a much more determined pro-Israel position and I think Gillard is a part of that."16

The Israel Lobby had sent a signal. Governments, who waver on their commitment to Israel, do so at their peril. Soon after, Opposition Leader, Tony Abbott, used "the first major speech of the [election] campaign to pledge fidelity to…" Australia? No, to Israel!17 Abbott promised that 'we would never over-react to any international incidents' by Israel. He seems to know where the money and power is. The word 'over-react' is the same talking point used by Danby two months previously.

When the theft of Australian identities by Israel first became apparent in February of this year, the National Times quoted an "Australian official" who was too scared to have his name published, presciently observing that"It wouldn't matter whether it was John Howard or Kevin Rudd or Tony Abbott in the prime minister's chair, they [the Israelis]… know they've got us by the balls," partly because of the strength of the Israel lobby."18

Pilgrimage to Tel Aviv

In December 2010, 17 members of our Federal parliament are going to Israel for the second "Australia-Israel Leadership Forum."19 Leading them will be Australia's de facto Foreign Minister, Danby. No other country receives such a contingent of Australian senior civil servants. But who will they be servants to – the leaders in Israel? Last month (16th October), Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, the founder and spiritual leader of the Shas Party, one of the three major components of the current Israeli government, gave the following speech: "Goyim [non-Jews] were born only to serve us. Without that, they have no place in the world; only to serve the People of Israel."20

Mirwaiz, Geelani Thank Iran For Support

Srinagar, Nov 20: A day after India sent a demarche to Iran for supreme leader's message to Hajj pilgrims, Kashmir's chief priest described Ayatullah Syed Ali Khamenei as great leader and said he would be shortly visiting New Delhi to meet Iranian envoy to convey thanks to Iranian leader and nation for their support to the oppressed people of Kashmir.

Mirwaiz Umer Farooq who also heads the moderate faction of the Hurriyat Conference said there is a growing consensus on the global level on Kashmir dispute.

"Despite being at cross-purposes even Washington and Beijing have one voice on Kashmir that 'it's a dispute and there will be no peace in south Asia till it's resolved," Mirwaiz told a news conference at his residence today.

Mirwaiz said the pro-freedom leadership here was encouraged by the statements emanating from Iran, China and the US, "which have clearly accepted Kashmir as a disputed territory".

"We are encouraged by the statement of support from Ayatollah Ali Khamnaei and China's continued policy to treat Kashmir as a dispute," he said adding the US President Barack Obama during his India visit had clearly stated that Kashmir was a "dispute pending resolution".

Mirwaiz said he will be shortly traveling to New Delhi to meet the envoys of Muslim countries and "apprise them about the situation in Kashmir and the interference in religious affairs by the government."

"I plan to raise political, human rights and issue of religious interference by the state with the envoys...will also meet Iranian ambassador to thank the country and apprise them of Kashmir situation," Mirwaiz said.

Meanwhile the Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani said the results of this five-month-long agitation are clear before all. Voices are being raised at the international level to resolve the Kashmir issue, and pressure is mounting on India.

Geelani said that the recent statement on Kashmir by Iran's spiritual leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, was encouraging, and expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Kashmiri people.

TERRORISTS ASSASSINATE IRANIAN SCIENTIST AND WOUND ANOTHER SCIENTIST AND HIS WIFE

Top Iranian Nuclear Scientists Attacked
NY Times online
November 29, 2010
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/30/world/middleeast/30tehran.html?hp

TEHRAN — Unidentified assailants riding motorcycles launched separate
bomb attacks here on Monday against two of the country's top nuclear
scientists, killing one and prompting accusations that the United States and Israel were again trying to disrupt Iran's nuclear program.

...The motorcycle attackers attached the bombs to the professors' cars
and then drove off, detonating them from a distance, according to
Iranian media reports... (Prof. Fereydoon) Abbasi's wife was also hurt
in the blast, the reports said. Last January, a remote-controlled bomb
killed a physics professor, Masoud Ali Mohammadi, outside his home....

The slain scientist, Majid Shahriari, managed a "major project" for the country's Atomic Energy Organization, Iran's nuclear chief, Ali Akbar Salehi, told the semiofficial IRNA news agency. His injured colleague, Fereydoon Abbasi, is believed to be even more important; he is on the United Nations Security Council's sanctions list for ties to the Iranian nuclear effort...

Israel and the United States have often signaled that they will not
tolerate a nuclear Iran. Neither has acknowledged pursuing sabotage or
assassinations there, but both are widely believed to be pursuing ways
to undermine the country's nuclear program...

"They're bad people, and the work they do is exactly what you need to
design a bomb," said a (U.S.) federal official who assesses scientific
intelligence and spoke on condition of anonymity. "They're both top
scientists."

P. J. Crowley, the State Department spokesman, did not address the
Iranian accusations in detail. "All I can say is we decry acts of
terrorism wherever they occur and beyond that, we do not have any
information on what happened," he said.

Talking to the Taliban About Life After Occupation
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article26921.htm

Special report: In the last of his series from Afghanistan, Ghaith Abdul-Ahad asks Taliban leaders past and present what kind of regime they would run – and whether there is a chance of negotiated peace
Part two: Five days inside a Taliban jail

Part one: The London cab driver who fights for the Taliban
By Ghaith Abdul-Ahad

November 26,2010 "The Guardian" - In the south-eastern city of Khost, the everyday business of the Taliban administration carries on across the street from the fortified, government-run city court and police station.

The head of the Haqqani network's civilian administration and his assistant hold their council in the grand mosque, which is also known as the Haqqani mosque because it was built with Taliban and Arab money.

When I met them, the two men – a frail-looking 60-year-old and his younger sidekick – gave the impression of being haggard peasants seeking work in the city rather than members of one of the organisations most feared by Britain and America.

Worshippers at the mosque greeted the Haqqani representatives with a mix of reverence and anxiety, some walking in a long circle to avoid them while others came forward and shook hands, pledging contributions for the movement. The mosque leader begged them to be his guests for the night.

"The resistance is stronger and bolder today," the old man said. "A few years ago the Taliban could move only at night.

"Now that our land has been liberated – thanks be to God – we walk around in the middle of the day and we fight in front of the people. We control our lands and our villages while [the Americans] can only come in by air."

The administrator was laden with messages to deliver. Among his many roles as a senior member of the civilian administration, the most important is as a conduit to the higher Taliban authority of Sirajuddin Haqqani and his base in the border region between Khost and Pakistan.

The old man carries edicts from the leadership in one direction and petitions and complaints in the other.

When the Taliban ruled in Kabul in the 1990s they closed schools, stopped women working and exposed themselves to ridicule by banning trivial pursuits such as kite flying.

Yes, the Taliban had made mistakes in the past, he admitted, and they were still making them. "Our men still do things that annoy the people, and that is part of my job, to convey the complaints," he said.

"But the benefits of the Taliban outweigh the harm we do to the people. In our area there were thieves and bandits. It was chaos.
"People needed someone to monitor and rule and punish. They needed us to impose order.

"The government is besieged in its fortresses and can't come to the people, and corruption is paralysing it. One of the main reasons for our popularity is the failure of this government."

In a striking parallel with what the Americans have been advocating as part of their counterinsurgency initiative, the Haqqanis have set up local shura (consultation) councils made up of village elders and clerics to run the affairs of villagers in the "liberated" areas and create local security. The old man's job is to supervise these councils.

"I am a representative of the movement and I walk among the people and everyone knows me. I move between the people and the commanders, watching the commanders' behaviour. I listen to the people and convey the picture to the supreme leaders," he said.

Had the Taliban changed? A future administration would be based on Islamic rule, which was what the Afghan people wanted, but it would be different in detail from the Taliban regime that had ruled in Kabul before. "We will not rule based on theory. The people want us to be more pragmatic."

He quoted the Muslim poet Muhammad Iqbal. "When the painter works on the same old painting again, he will make it much better.

"The Taliban that will return will not be like the old Taliban. We have learned from the old mistakes. We will accept others. We are not and cannot be all of Afghanistan, but we are an important part of it."

The commander

From Khost I travelled to nearby Ghazni province to meet a commander of the Quetta Taliban I had met two years before.

Last time I saw Mawlawa Halimi he was scared and kept a watch at the doors and window of the small hotel where we had lunch. He had just been promoted to lead a small unit and he moved around incognito, fearing government agents and police checkpoints.

In the intervening years he had become one of the most senior commanders in the province. He was a few pounds chubbier, his hair was longer and he had an air of authority. I waited for him in the bazaar. He arrived on a motorbike with an armed guard riding pillion and no one in the bazaar gave him a second glance. He drove ahead, leading us to a mud-walled compound.

As we followed him, an American patrol passed along the main road a hundred metres distant, three huge armoured trucks wrapped with mesh fences to counter RPG attacks, each with two sets of armoured wheels in front to detect and detonate improvised explosive devices and landmines. The soldiers in their gun turrets trained their weapons left and right.

"Last time we met, the atmosphere in this area was tense. The villages and markets you passed through were targeted by the Americans," Halimi said.

"They used to come here a lot and life for people was difficult. Now, with Allah's grace, this is all ours.

"The war has changed. I used to fear the government wherever I went. Now we move everywhere and carry our guns with us. Two years ago we were just trying to defend our areas. Now we control this area and we go to the main street to attack."

He highlighted another major difference with the Taliban of two years ago. Then, the foot soldiers had all been trained in the madrasas. Now they were less ideological.

"It's a mistake to call all of the fighters Taliban. The Taliban are madrasa students and I am a mullah, but most of my fighters are peasants and farmers and students who come from the government schools.

"In winter we send them to Pakistan to get some religious training, but they are not Taliban," Halimi said.

"When we sit and watch the news on TV we hear that the Taliban attacked here and there and destroyed tanks and killed soldiers. Then in the next news item you hear that the Americans are calling for negotiations and of course you understand that these two news items are related. The second news item is the result of the first, and the Americans want to negotiate because they are losing.

"Why don't they just leave?" he said. "What are they waiting for?"

The ambassador

The fluffed-up sofas in the Kabul living room of Abdul Salam Zaeef, the former Taliban ambassador to Pakistan, have seated many high-ranking dignitaries in recent months as officials from the UN, the EU and Nato have come visiting.

It is a dramatic change of affairs for a man who spent three years from 2002 in prison in Guantánamo and who, until July this year, was on the UN list of known terrorists.

Zaeef is now a prolific writer and speaks five languages fluently. According to many Taliban insiders, if there are any negotiations between the Taliban and the Americans they will go through him.
"The Americans came and sat here," he said, pointing at one of the big sofas. "They said they needed to talk to the Taliban but couldn't find them. They didn't know who the Taliban were. I said go and look, they are everywhere, the Taliban have shadow governors and administrators, why don't you go and talk to them?"

The real reason the Americans didn't talk, he said, was that they had no respect for the Taliban.

"I told the Americans to respect their enemy. You can't negotiate with the Taliban from a position of strength, so why would the Taliban come and talk to you? If you want talks you have to treat the Taliban as equals."

In any negotiation, the Taliban would assert that as long as their land was under occupation they would struggle to liberate it.

They would continue to fight until the foreigners left. Their argument was with the Americans, not the Afghan government. They did not want to bring down the government, they just wanted to renew it.
"The Taliban have no problem with the Afghan government. We have no problem with Karzai or the Afghans. The problem lies with the Americans," he said.

"Why would we negotiate with Karzai if he has no say in running his government? They are under occupation and all orders come from foreigners."

The Americans, he said, had not talked to any senior Taliban to his knowledge. However, "the government and the Taliban have been talking for two years on local matters, health-related issues, prisoner exchange, education.

"This is not a negotiation, this is a way to help and benefit our Afghan people and nation. Negotiations haven't started yet."

The Americans had a right to know that Afghanistan would not be used as a base for attacks against them, he said, but that was all.
"The Americans have one right only, and that is their right to be assured that Afghanistan will not be used against them and that is something the Taliban should give.

"Apart from that they have no rights, they have no right to tell us about democracy and human rights. That's an Afghan issue and it will be decided by the Afghans.

"The Americans behave with arrogance and if they don't want to be defeated in Afghanistan they should talk.

"They don't belong here," he said. "They are foreigners, outsiders."

The US of A Breaks the Soviet Record
By Glenn Greenwald
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article26922.htm

November 26, 2010 "Salon" -- Even for the humble among us who try to avoid jingoistic outbursts, some national achievements are so grand that they merit a moment of pride and celebration:

US presence in Afghanistan as long as Soviet slog
The Soviet Union couldn't win in Afghanistan, and now the United States is about to have something in common with that futile campaign: nine years, 50 days.

On Friday, the U.S.-led coalition will have been fighting in this South Asian country for as long as the Soviets did in their humbling attempt to build up a socialist state.

It seems clear that a similar -- or even grander -- prize awaits us as the one with which the Soviets were rewarded. I hope nobody thinks that just because we can't identify who the Taliban leaders are after almost a decade over there that this somehow calls into doubt our ability to magically re-make that nation. Even if it did, it's vital that we stop the threat of Terrorism, and nothing helps to do that like spending a full decade -- and counting -- invading, occupying, and bombing Muslim countries.

The good news -- beyond our shattering this record and thus showing that we can still kick those Soviets around even after they no longer exist -- is that this decade of utter futility hasn't at all diminished the Government's appetite for endless war in the Muslim world. By all accounts, the administration its actively debating whether to accelerate its already escalated intervention in Yemen.

We've dramatically increased our covert actions in countless countries across the Muslim world. And today, former Bush State Department legal adviser John Bellinger III (one of the "moderates" from that era) argues in The Washington Post for a re-writing of the 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) -- not in order to rescind it after nine years of endless war-fighting, but rather to expand it, on the ground that it "provides insufficient authority for our military and intelligence personnel to conduct counterterrorism operations today" and outrageously fails to empower the President's "wish to target or detain a terrorist who is not part of al-Qaeda" (for good measure, he also wants the new law to authorize the killing of American citizens and to allow detention without charges).

Clearly, the AUMF is far too narrow and weak for our purposes since -- as Bellinger notes -- this is all we've been able to do in its name:
The Bush and Obama administrations have relied on this authority to wage the ground war in Afghanistan; to exert lethal force (including drone strikes) against al-Qaeda leaders in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia; and to detain suspected al-Qaeda and Taliban members in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Afghanistan.

What kind of lame AUMF is that? A decade's worth of war, some slaughtering through the use of remote-controlled sky robots over a few countries, and a worldwide regime of lawless detention? How are we supposed to Stay Safe when we tie one arm behind our back that way?

Fortunately, if this vision of Expanded Endless War proves to be unwise, the harm will be contained, since the U.S. -- unlike the former Soviet Union -- is so financially strong that it can easily sustain this. And whatever else is true, there's one thing we should all be able to agree on: the person presiding over all of this deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

UPDATE: In a New York Times article today on the possibility that many newly elected Tea Party candidates will dare to include military spending in demanded budget cuts and will be similarly hostile to foreign aid -- including, most alarmingly for some, to Israel -- the following passage appears (h/t Matt Duss):

"One of the first things Congressman Cantor can do is to make sure that his colleagues vote for aid to Israel," said Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York, who also met with Mr. Netanyahu.

In the face of all these economic difficulties, auterity measures, and calls for Endless War, it's comforting that at least some of America's representatives in Congress -- such as the Good Democrat Chuck Schumer -- have their priorities straight.

Who Destroyed the 9/11 Evidence? .
Monday, 29 November 2010
Christopher Bollyn
http://www.rebelnews.org/opinion/terror/534590-who-destroyed-the-911-evidence

During the past two months I have been involved in research about the Rothschild/Mossad network behind the criminal destruction of the steel from the World Trade Center. I have found that the network that arranged for the destruction of the steel - critical evidence from the crime scene - was actually organized by Israel's Mossad and their Zionist agents, the real culprits behind the false-flag terrorism that changed the world. This article will be the final and conclusive chapter of my book, Solving 9/11 - The Deception that Changed the World.

On 19 November 2010 I sent photographs of two of the main people involved in the "recycling" of the 300,000 tons of steel from the World Trade Center to Roy Tov, the Christian Israeli author of The Cross of Bethlehem. I sent these photos of the culprits behind the criminal destruction of the steel to Tov because he is very knowledgable about the Mossad, having been pursued and targeted by Israeli assassins around the world. This is what Roy Tov wrote back to me on November 21:

Thanks Christopher,

If the pictures are real, then there is little doubt regarding their allies and employers. The chances they'll answer in such case are slim, or it will be in the form of an attack (lawyers or violent) against you.

In September, when I began my research into the people behind the destrucion of the steel, I called the Hugo Neu company, which was one of the two New Jersey scrapyards that "recycled" the steel. Hugo Neu was a German Jewish immigrant from Fürth (like Henry Kissinger, another Rothschild agent) who came to America and worked as a bank clerk with Seligman & Co. before becoming the head of Associated Metals and Minerals Corporation (AMMC) in New York in the 1930s with his German Jewish fellows, Meno Lissauer and Walter M. Rothschild, the company's president. Lissauer's wife, Meta, was also Walter Rothschild's sister. Hugo Neu started his own scrap metal company in 1945. The company is now run by his son, John, and has very close business ties to the state of Israel and is invested in a Mossad-linked Israeli venture fund.

Since 2001, the two companies involved in the destruction of the steel, Sims Metal Management and Hugo Neu, have merged into one company. I called and asked to speak with Alan Ratner, the former head of Metal Management in New Jersey, Daniel Dienst, or Robert Kelman, since these were the key executives involved in the 9/11 steel recycling. I got through to Ratner's secretary, who gave me his email, but instead of letting me speak to any of these men, I was connected to company's spokesman, Daniel Strechay.

Daniel Strechay is the corporate gatekeeper who speaks for the company who profited from the illegal destruction of the steel evidence from the World Trade Center.

Strechay was completely unwilling to answer any questions. I told him that the destruction of the steel is a matter of great historic importance and that in the interest of fairness and accuracy I wanted to speak directly with the people involved. Strechay refused, saying "It's all a matter of public record. Read the Wall Street Journal."

He then said that the company is very proud of how it handled the steel from the Twin Towers, but was adamant in his refusal to let me speak with any of the men who were actually involved in the operation, and hung up the phone. Later, I got through to Alan Ratner by email and he wrote back, so I sent him a few questions, but he yet to respond. Clearly, these men do not want to discuss their roles in the destruction of the steel from the World Trade Center.

I called Kenneth Holden at his home in Scarsdale, New York, on October 16, to ask him some questions about his role in the clean-up of the debris at the World Trade Center. Holden is the former head of New York City's Department of Design and Construction (DDC), and was the official who oversaw the removal of the steel. As Mayor Bloomberg said about Commissioner Holden, when he was reappointed as head of the DDC in January 2002:

New Yorkers are fortunate to have Commissioner Holden agree to remain as Commissioner of DDC," said Mayor Bloomberg. "Over the last four months he has done a terrific job managing the clean up of the World Trade Center and so that the reconstruction process for Lower Manhattan can begin. By coordinating the movement of millions of tons of steel and rubble, excavating one of the most dangerous work sites in the world all seemingly ahead of schedule, under budget and without a fatality, Kenneth Holden has been the unsung hero of this enormous task.

Kenneth Holden

THE "UNSUNG HERO" WON'T SING

When Holden gave his statement to the 9/11 Commission on April 1, 2003, he said that he had received "verbal permission" to remove the steel to New Jersey scrapyards, but failed to name the person who had authorized the move. Oddly, nobody bothered to ask who gave Holden the verbal permission:

Steel and debris from the site was sent to Fresh Kills where it was examined and sifted. As the Department of Sanitation could no longer handle the steel with their equipment, and our engineers thought the steel would destabilize the landfill, DDC received verbal permission to ship the steel to New Jersey. (From whom?) By the end of June 2002, an astounding total of over 1.6 million tons of steel and other debris were removed from the site.

It was Saturday morning when I reached Holden at his home. I told him I was working on an article about the destruction of the steel from the World Trade Center and wanted to ask him a few questions. He bawked a bit at first, saying that he was no longer giving interviews on the subject, so I repeated what he told the commission and asked the most important question first: Who gave you the verbal permission to ship the steel to New Jersey scrapyards? I was able to repeat the question twice very clearly. After a short pause Holden said, "As I said, I'm not giving interviews on this subject." Then he silently ended the call.

I thought for a minute and called Holden right back. He picked up the phone and I immediately asked, "Was it Chertoff? Was it Michael Chertoff who gave you the verbal permission?" Holden was silent on the other end of the line, then he ended the call as he had done before.

"Silence is agreement" is the old Estonian saying that came to mind. The logic is that Holden could not deny that Chertoff had given him the verbal permission, so he remained silent. Common sense would suggest that the permission must have come from Chertoff, who as Assistant Attorney General of the United States was the top dog responsible for the federal (FBI) investigation of 9/11.

Assistant Attorney General Michael Chertoff was "top dog" at the FBI during the "non-investigation" of 9/11, in which the crucial steel evidence was destroyed in Asian smelters before being examined by engineers. Chertoff's Israeli mother, Livia Eisen, was one of the first Mossad agents. An Israeli by birth, Michael spent much of his childhood in Israel.

To understand the essence of the crime, I recommend reading the short article "Selling Out the Investigation" by Bill Manning of Fire Engineering. Manning's piece was published on January 1, 2002. The destruction of the steel was a crucial part of the 9/11 hoax. A hoax cannot succeed if there is evidence that reveals the truth and 9/11 is a global hoax.

The Twin Towers were primarily steel structures supporting 220 lightweight concrete floors.

The towers were well built structures that used more steel than today's skyscrapers. The debris contained about 300,000 tons of steel that was hastily dispatched by a New York City official to two Zionist-controlled scrapyards in New Jersey - before it could even be inspected by engineers. These Jewish-owned scrapyards then shipped the steel - hard evidence from the crime scene - to Asian smelters where it was melted down far from the prying eyes of U.S. investigators. Why was this allowed and who was behind it?

An organization called the NYC Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN) is calling for the public to demand that the district attorney of New York County investigate and prosecute those responsible for the destruction of the evidence from the crime scene. This is from their open letter/petition of June 23, 2010 to the district attorney's office:

Cy Vance, Jr. District Attorney of New York County

Thomas Wornom, Bureau Chief, Special Prosecutions Bureau

Dear Sirs:

Over the last three weeks you have been informed about the overwhelming evidence that World Trade Center Building 7 was demolished with explosives. I trust that you understand the serious implications of this crime and that you are resolved to prosecute the guilty parties. To provide a critical steppingstone in your investigation, I would like to bring to your attention the widely documented – and widely protested – destruction of physical evidence (structural steel) at the crime scene, which I contend is prosecutable pursuant to Article 205 of the New York Penal Code, § 205.50 Hindering Prosecution.

"[A] person `renders criminal assistance' when, with intent to prevent, hinder or delay the discovery or apprehension of…a person he knows or believes has committed a crime…he...suppresses, by any act of concealment, alteration or destruction, any physical evidence which might aid in the discovery or apprehension of such person or in the lodging of a criminal charge against him;"

I will present publicly available information on the destruction of physical evidence from the World Trade Center site, below my signature, in four sections entitled:

1. Official acknowledgement of the destruction of physical evidence from the WTC.

2. Control of the WTC cleanup.
3. The decision to destroy the physical evidence.
4. The continued destruction of evidence despite public outcry

The supporting documentation provided in this letter/petition from NYC CAN includes the following:

"In the month that lapsed between the terrorist attacks and the deployment of the [FEMA Building Performance Assessment Team (BPAT Team)], a significant amount of steel debris—including most of the steel from the upper floors—was removed from the rubble pile, cut into smaller sections, and either melted at the recycling plant or shipped out of the U.S. Some of the critical pieces of steel—including the suspension trusses from the top of the towers and the internal support columns—were gone before the first BPAT team member ever reached the site. Fortunately, an NSF-funded independent researcher, recognizing that valuable evidence was being destroyed, attempted to intervene with the City of New York to save the valuable artifacts, but the city was unwilling to suspend the recycling contract."

- Committee on Science, U.S. House of Representatives, March 6, 2002

"[T]here is so much that has been lost in these last six months that we can never go back and retrieve. And that is not only unfortunate, it is borderline criminal."

- Joseph Crowley, U.S. Congressman, 7th District, New York

"[O]n September 28, the New York Times learned that the city was recycling the steel. When the Times contacted Kenneth R. Holden, commissioner of the Department of Design and Construction, he said that no one from the investigative team had asked him to keep or inspect the steel. The ASCE, it turned out, had faxed a request, but to the wrong fax machine. Late that afternoon, after reporters shuttled the correct fax number to the ASCE, Holden said that a request had finally reached him."

Commissioner Kenneth R. Holden and his wife Frances McGuire. Holden was given an award in 2002 by the AIA New York Chapter after he had overseen the criminal destruction of the steel from the World Trade Center. Why was he being awarded when he should have been arrested?

By September 28, the DDC is publicly known to have been aware of the BPAT's request for the steel to be saved, however, the decision to recycle the steel stood.

Of course, Mayor Giuliani – previously a U.S. Attorney – and the DDC had to be fully aware of the illegality of destroying the physical evidence prior to their decision to recycle the steel. Their refusal to desist from recycling the steel when asked by the investigative team to do so – still less than three weeks into the cleanup effort, with hundreds of thousands of tons of steel still salvageable, and relatively negligible revenue from selling the steel not an issue because there was virtually unlimited federal funding for the cleanup effort – strongly suggests their contravention of the law was deliberate and motivated by intent to prevent the discovery of a crime they knew had taken place...

Calls to halt the recycling fell on deaf ears. According to Times reporters Glanz and Lipton:

"Officials in the mayor's office declined to reply to written and oral requests for comment over a three-day period about who decided to recycle the steel and the concern that the decision might be handicapping the investigation. `The city considered it reasonable to have recovered structural steel recycled,' said Matthew G. Monahan, a spokesman for the city's Department of Design and Construction, which is in charge of debris removal at the site"

Why didn't the city simply stop recycling the steel? Again, the outright refusal of city officials to desist from recycling the steel strongly suggests their contravention of the law was deliberate and motivated by intent to prevent the discovery of a crime they knew had taken place.

I strongly support the NYC CAN petition to prosecute those behind the criminal destruction of the steel from the World Trade Center. My forthcoming article will reveal the key people involved in the terror network behind this crime.

In the meantime, I recommend visiting the website of NYC CAN to understand the basis of their appeal for justice and the extent of the criminal destruction of evidence from the World Trade Center:
