MOCKERY OF RTE - Nearly a year's ago I had visited a 300 years old muslim dominated Badarpur Khadar village in north-west area of Delhi and found that the village with a population of about 3000 (600 school age children not going to school because there is no facility of school) is devoid of all basic civic amenities necesary for dignified human living. The matter was brought to the Delhi High Court by way of a PIL and the High Court after noticing the facts, commented that "heads of all of us should hang in shame". The High Court directed the Government of Delhi to immediately provide all the basic civic amenities to the inhabitants of the village. Today, I visited again the village and found that except electricity, no other facility including government school has yet been provided. Parents and children are crying for school. I will submit a report to the Court.
