- Post Report, KathmanduSep 20, 2015- President Ram Baran Yadav has declared the promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal 2072 amidst a special ceremony at CA Hall, New Baneshwor, and Kathmandu on Sunday. The Interim Constitution has been annulled with the promulgation of new constitution.
President Ram Baran Yadav congratulated the people of Nepal for the new constitution. He said the nearly four-decade-long dream of Nepali people to write the new constitution through democratic process has been realised today.He hoped the new constitution will ensure a sustainable peace and political stability taking the nation on the path of social and economic prosperity.
President Yadav expressed his hopes that the republicanism with federalism and proportional representation will further develop in the coming days.
Stressing on need for unity among diversity, Prez Yadav said the new constitution will end all kinds of discrimination.

As the clock is ticking for formal unveiling of the new constitution by President Ram Baran Yadav, grand preparations have been made at the Constituent Assembly (CA) building in Naya Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
Many lawmakers have arrived at the CA in their ethnic cultural attires and a large number people have started thronging outside the CA building carrying the national flag.
The ex-lawmakers from previous Constitution Assembly that was dissolved in 2012 have also been invited to observe the historic occasion of constitution promulgation.
Meanwhile, the Naya Baneshwor area wears a different look today. Only few vehicles are plying on the Baneshwor road section, heavy presence of security personnel in riot-gear can be seen everywhere and a huge mass of people in anticipation of the new constitution can be seen around the Baneshwor area.
The Constitution Assembly has been decorated with flowers and garlands to mark the special day.

SLMM protesters vandalise and torch NC lawmaker's residence in Siraha
Sep 20, 2015- Cadres of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha have vandalised and torched the residence of Siraha constituency-3 lawmaker Sita Devi Yadav.
The protesters were returning after a silent rally led by Madhesi Morcha leader Upendra Yadav. The protesters barged into the compound of lawmaker Yadav's residence at Laha Bazaar. They have also torched a jeep and a motorbike parked inside the compound.
The agitators entered the house and vandalised whatever they came across and took some household belongings.
A jeep, two motorbikes and the sitting room of the house have been completely damaged in the arson.
According to eyewitness, the protesters hurled stones at residence of Nepali Congress Siraha's lawmaker Yadav while staging the silent rally. The protesters also set fire to the flag of the residence and put up a black flag. They also looted the household stuff from Yadav's residence, eyewitnesses said.

61 lawmakers do not sign on Nepal's Constitution 2072

KATHMANDU: Sixty-one lawmakers missed out on the opportunity to sign Nepal's Constitution 2072.
After the Constituent Assembly endorsed it with an overwhelming majority on Wednesday, September 18, each member of the Constituent Assembly were summoned to the CA building on Friday to sign the copies of the new charter before the CA Chairman, Subas Chandra Nembang, would formally authenticate it.
When put to vote, the new charter had garnered support from the 507 out of 532 CA members present in the CA on Wednesday. All 25 lawmakers of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, however, had voted against it.
On the other hand, 60 lawmakers of the Madhes-based parties had boycotted the voting process owing to their differences over the number and demarcation of the purported federal units. Five others had remained absent.
Despite his poor health condition,Meghraj Nepali of Madhes Samata Party Nepal, who had boycotted the voting process, showed up at the CA today to sign the dossier.
Biswendra Paswan of Bahujan Shakti Party, Rajya Laxmi Golchha of CPN-UML and Laxman Rajbanshi-Nepa Rastriya Party, who did not take part in the voting, also signed the copies today.
Pradeep Giri and Shila Gautam Khadka of Nepali Congress remained absent during voting as well as signing.
