Release Date: 3rd December 2010

This film is based on the Chittagong Uprising (1930-1934) which culminated in the raid on the Chittagong Armory. Chittagong is a port city in East Bengal (in present day Bangladesh).The title of the film is deceptive as it fails to make the people aware of the momentous raid when the British Empire ceased to exist in the port city for more than 72 hours. The Leader of the Rebel Fighters was  Surya Sen, affectionately called MasterDa by Bengalis.

Ethnic Bengali fighters (mostly in late teens and early 20s) fought pitched battles in the streets of the city. The Britishers were so shocked after the initial daring raid that they thought that there must be more than 1000 fighters to mount such an audacious attack but in fact they were less than 100.

The British requisitioned thousands of their soldiers to take back the city; faced with such overwhelming force the rebels retreated to the hills of Jalalabad on the outskirts of the city where they faced the bullets of the imperials. The fighting was fierce as Bengali fighters resisted the force with stubborn resistance inflicting heavy casualties --some accounts mention atleast 80 deaths on the part of the British forces. this can be attributed to the initimate knowledge of the terrain that the Bengali fighters had over the British forces;most of whom were Nepali Mercenaries.

In another Episode of the Uprising, The Rebels raid the European Club at Chittagong. In this attack, there was a 16 yr old girl called Pritilata Wadedar who was dressed as a man when they attacked the club. After the attack she consumed cyanide after she found all escape routes blocked.

The history books of India had been unkind to this Glorious Episode as very few people are aware of this forgotten Chapter. It was a direct challenge to the authority of the British Empire at a time when the Sun Never Sets At Their Empire.

So Go and See this Film.
And when you come out of the Hall, You will Know that When Bengalis Pick up the Gun, they Fight Better than the Best in the world.
